(68)Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom can we go? You have the words of eternal life.

(69) We have come to believe and know that you are the Holy One of God.”

  • Why John 6:68? (click to read)

You may have noticed the billboard on GA 400 that reads John 6:68. It might even be the reason you are checking out this website! Not long ago, I asked God for a way to show my gratitude for his many blessing in my life. The Holy Spirit moved me to secure the billboard for a message. The process of selecting a message according to His will made me nervous. So, I drew myself close to God in Adoration for his direction. I received a clear answer of John 6:68.This passage reminds many Christians to turn to Christ, to follow his word. For Catholics, this scripture is a deeper reminder of our sacramental union with Christ through the Eucharist. The answer Peter gives to Jesus is in direct response to one of the hardest teachings of Christ.

In the synagogue at Capenaum, Jesus begins to teach that he is the bread of life. In verse 52, Jesus says " the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh." We read in verse 52 that they had difficulty accepting this teaching. Jesus reiterates four times that eating his flesh gives life. In John 6:66, many of Jesus' disciples turned away from him in response to this teaching. Jesus turns to the twelve and asked if they too were going to leave. In John 6:68 we hear the response offered by Peter.

What answer do we give God when following his ways are challenging or difficult to comprehend?

professional

As a dental hygienist, I've had the pleasure of serving the oral health needs of Georgia residents for 17 years. I'm the grateful founder of Marian Mobile Dental Services, a company that provides onsite dental cleanings for senior and medically compromised residents living in long-term care communities.

I have always valued an inter-disciplinary care model for healthcare. I have served in hospital settings twice, as a high school volunteer and grad student intern. In additional to formal education in dental hygiene, aspects of the college curriculum included adult learning theory and the business of healthcare.

Presently, through my service with Marian Mobile Dental, I have partnered with many of our community's excellent healthcare providers in various specialties. I will be hosting some of these skilled providers for video interviews on this site. Other video content will be based on my own clinical knowledge. As a former college instructor, I'm truly a teacher at heart.  I'm excited to extend dental education and homecare tips to public viewers.

Greetings!

Welcome to the website of The Praying Hygienist ! Yes, many hygienists pray. For me, this name signifies a key element of the testimony I have to offer: to preform the duties of our occupation in a way that gives honor and glory to God.

I hope that through the post and videos on this site others are encourage to pray more fervently.

We live with greater Christian integrity if we give our daily works over to God to use as a unique ministry of His goodness. For me, my works are as a wife, mom, and dental hygienist.

We are not only called to be holy in our churches and in our homes. We are called to be holy where we work and everywhere we go.

Prayers for a healthy and holy community.

spiritual

I'm baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Church. I'm blessed with the vocation of marriage. I am a busy mom who believes in the sentiment of Mother Teresa, that if we want a change in the world we must start at home. I love reading spiritual development books and listening to faith-based podcast. I hope to continue the ecumenist work of Pope John Paul II by promoting more unity among all Christian faiths. I hope to help other discover new devotions and a deeper relation with Christ, and also provide resources for people unfamiliar or misinformed about the Catholic faith.

I have been blessed by His holy grace with spiritual gifts, visions, and particular understanding abilities. Some areas of this site will be used to share these experiences and the testimony of my faith journey.

I think God likes to use "simple" people in unique ways to advance his kingdom on earth. This site is my genuine attempt to participate in His plan for my life.

Bless this journey
